Keep Calm and Struggle

keep calm and struggle

When we find ourselves going through hard times we have to remember that God has everything under control. Even though it may seem like things are spiraling out of control we have to remember that God isn’t going to let us fall.

If we do fall we have to pick ourselves up and allow God to put us back together again. God never tires of helping us. He is always there waiting for us to take His hand. It’s up to us to reach out to Him. If we seek Him diligently we will surely find Him.

When we find ourselves stuck in the midst of temptation, addiction, self-harm, depression, jealousy, immorality, things of the flesh we have to reach out to God. Often times we make the excuse that what we are going through is “too hard” or that we are just “struggling” with our sins. If we’re not making efforts to stop doing what we’re doing no matter the cost we aren’t struggling. Struggling and fighting a losing battle are not the same thing. When we struggle we are doing whatever it takes to stay away from what is holding us hostage. There is nothing too hard for God to handle and the more we come to realize this the better off we’ll be. When we are truly struggling we are trying our best to break free, to be more than what we could possibly think of, and to be who God called us to be. We have to call on Jesus if we ever want to truly be free. When we are truly saved there is nothing and no one that can hold us hostage. When we are truly saved we are no longer slaves to the things of the flesh. We can’t let our lives be controlled by those things. We have to be able to live in confidence, because at the end of the day we are all going to have to answer for what we did and did not do.
We have to struggle. We have to do whatever it takes to live lives that are sin-free. We have to walk in righteousness (no, not self-righteousness). Those things that seem too hard to handle our so easy for God to handle. We have to be able to put our stubbornness and fear aside. We have to be able to struggle. We have to stop making excuses for the wrong we are doing. There is absolutely nothing too hard for God to handle.
When we find ourselves in sticky situations we sometimes have to just stop what we are doing and run away… literally. We have to get as far away from those things that do harm as possible. It seems hard to do but anyone can do it. (You’ll definitely thank yourself later.) We have to repent and ask for forgiveness. Yes, there may come times when you mess up. There may be times when you stumble. When those things happen we can’t lose faith in God. We have to get back up and do it again. It won’t always be easy, but anything that is hard to get is worth having. We have to have enough faith to trust in the fact that God wants only what is best for us and that He won’t rest until we are free. We have to take advantage of the fact that we are given a second chance whenever we are forgiven of our sins by God. We have to be able to stop what we are doing and pray long and hard. No matter what we’re going through we have to pray without ceasing. We have to give all of our troubles to God. We can never stop praying. Lastly we have to hold ourselves accountable and reach out for help. We have to be able to ask for help because we can’t do this on our own. It will be hard but the freedom and peace you will feel will definitely be worth it.
There is nothing too hard for God to handle. We have to struggle. We have to fight with all we have to be free. We have to ask Jesus to save us from our suffering. We have to be free. We have to leave all of our struggles in the past. We have to move on. We have to keep calm and struggle with our entire being.

If you are reading this and feel like you need to be freed don’t be afraid to call on Jesus. Jesus can save you and only God can satisfy the lost and lonely soul. Money, wealth, clothes, cars, and jewelry are not strong enough to fill the holes in our hearts. Don’t be afraid to give God a try. Trust me, you will be going on the adventure of a lifetime. No, it’s not completely glamorous. Yes, it will still be a difficult life, but at least you will have God in your heart. At least you can smile and truly be happy. At least you can go on living in confidence and peace. At least you can serve the one in whom our worth is found. There is no greater love than the love that God has for you. Give it a try. You won’t regret it. Anything that is born into this world can be born again…

2 Corinthians 5:17~
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

2 Corinthians 12:9-10~
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
